About Us
Having spent the last 14 years in the industry Optimum Air Solution Pty Ltd was established in 2019 by Gerhard Dirker and his team. It consists of a group of passionate individuals with vast experience in the HVAC industry to fulfil their mutual goal of serving the industry with quality contracted and tendered installations, design and supply installations and preventative maintenance programmes.
We strive to provide personal and dedicated service to our clients, to maintain our workload carefully to ensure face to face interaction and hands on experience from the owners of the company to last bit of details of the installation or maintenance contract.
The entire project management and project execution process is handled by the directors from contract engagement and project negations through to engineering, design, selection, drawings, installation, commissioning and handover.
We have 4 in house suitably qualified installation teams, each team consisting of 3 team members, technician, installer and assistant, predominantly looking after our DX and VRF installations and commissioning.
We undertake medium to large installations for shopping centres, office buildings, computer centres, leisure and hotel facilities.
We also maintain buildings and execute preventative maintenance programmes to ensure the clients assets are taken care of in the long term ensuring longevity of their HVAC systems.
The company operates on a careful pre-selected and managed subcontract basis with the main labour subcontractors working for Optimum Air only on a dedicated basis.
We strive to work very closely with our client and consultant to ensure the most feasible and economically suitable installations that are well engineered are installed. Our aim is to be the best, not the biggest.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide installations and maintenance at a very high standard that guarantees work on a repeat and negotiated basis.
The company’s directors strongly believe in equal opportunity business structure and is in the process of negotiations to conform to the BBBEE codes with the main aim op uplifting and transferring knowledge and skill.
Our Goal
To be a medium sized business whose name and reputation speaks for itself building our brand around our team as we ultimately are as good as our management and teams in the field and take ultimate responsibility for our workmanship.
Our Capabilities
Our main activity is the installation of Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning systems.
We have extensive experience in specialised installations with close temperature and humidity control and precision filtration requirements.
Specialised ventilation systems have also been undertaken, including two stage evaporative cooling systems and spray paint booths.
The team has a vast array of experience between them in numerous buildings including Shopping Centres, Office Blocks, Hotels etc
In addition to installation work, we offer a complete maintenance and repair facility with the main aim of implementing preventative maintenance.

Meet the team
Gerhard Dirker
Managing Director
Gerhard qualified as a Mechanical Engineer in 2008 through Technicon Pretoria, and then UNISA and holds a B-Tech Mechanical Engineering Degree, he further holds
- Pr Tech Eng. registration with ECSA (Engineering Council South Africa)
- Green Building Certified Professional with GBCSA
- Pr Tech Eng. Registration with ERB Botswana (Engineers Registration Board Botswana)
- Member of SAIRAC
- Member of SAIMechE
- Member of ASHRAE
Gerhard has worked for several companies and has gained vast experience throughout the years, he finds hard work rewarding and relish the opportunity to work on projects and reap the rewards of client satisfaction.
He started his career with RPP Consulting Engineers under the reins of Richard Pearce, where he was eventually appointed as a Director of the firm, he then moved to join Aurecon a multi-disciplinary consulting firm where he gained vast experience on several large-scale projects as a Senior Design Engineer and Associate,
Most recently he undertook a great opportunity at Ampair and Thermaire (Improvair) for the past 3 years holding the position as Engineering Manager and working very close with the Directors running the company on a day to day business and looking after all aspect of the contracting and installation side
His clients have showed confidence in him and has moved with him through his tenures in the industry.
Gerhard has decided to start his own venture to look after his clients interests and service them on face to face basis
